LG Sound Suite Introduces Modular Speakers With Flexible Configurations

LG Sound Suite consists of the H7 soundbar, M7 and M5 wireless surround speakers, and the W7 subwoofer. Together, these components support over two dozen configuration options. Users can start with a simple stereo setup or expand into a full 13.1.7 channel home theater system.

LG designed the system to scale with user needs and room sizes. Each speaker connects wirelessly, reducing cable clutter and installation complexity. The modular approach allows gradual upgrades instead of full replacements. The H7 soundbar acts as the central hub in most configurations. When paired with other Sound Suite speakers, it coordinates audio output across the system. LG positions this lineup as a premium solution for living rooms with unconventional layouts.

The W7 subwoofer handles low frequencies while maintaining wireless connectivity. Meanwhile, the M7 and M5 speakers function as surrounds or height channels, depending on placement. LG has not yet announced pricing or regional availability. This hardware strategy reflects a broader industry shift toward customizable audio systems. Consumers increasingly want adaptable solutions that fit modern homes, not fixed theater rooms.

Dolby Atmos FlexConnect Expands Spatial Audio Placement Freedom

The defining feature of LG Sound Suite is Dolby Atmos FlexConnect support. FlexConnect optimizes spatial audio based on actual speaker placement. It adjusts sound timing, balance, and direction automatically. This technology addresses common placement challenges. Furniture, power outlets, and room shapes often limit ideal speaker positions. FlexConnect compensates for these limitations using real-time calibration.

LG is the first brand to bring Dolby Atmos FlexConnect to a soundbar. When the H7 soundbar leads the system, FlexConnect works with any television. This significantly lowers the entry barrier for advanced surround sound. LG also plans a future software update for select premium TVs. Certain 2025 LG television models will gain native Dolby Atmos FlexConnect support. Those TVs will manage audio directly without relying on a soundbar hub.

Dolby Atmos FlexConnect reflects Dolby’s push toward intelligent, room-aware audio. The collaboration strengthens LG’s position in the premium home entertainment market. CES 2026 runs from January 6 to January 9 in Las Vegas. LG and Dolby are expected to demonstrate real-world Sound Suite setups during the event. Hands-on impressions will clarify how well FlexConnect performs in diverse environments.
