HMD Unveils Pulse 2 Pro as Pulse 2 Series Expands

lucadelladora – A new leak has revealed the full HMD Pulse 2 smartphone lineup before its official announcement, offering an early look at three upcoming models: the Pulse 2, Pulse 2+, and Pulse 2 Pro. The most attention has gone to the Pulse 2 Pro, which appears to borrow design cues from Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro, particularly in its widened rear camera module. Despite the visual similarities, the device is expected to target the budget to mid-range segment, continuing HMD Global’s focus on affordable smartphones.

The information comes from well-known leaker smashx_60, who shared images and detailed specifications. The leak suggests HMD is preparing a quick successor to the HMD Pulse Pro, a device currently selling for around $179, signaling that the Pulse series remains a key part of the company’s value-oriented strategy.

HMD Pulse 2 Pro Brings Camera and Design Upgrades

According to the leak, the HMD Pulse 2 Pro stands as the flagship of the lineup. It features a noticeably wider camera island that closely resembles Apple’s upcoming design language. The phone will reportedly be available in green, purple, and black color options, giving buyers a modest but stylish selection.

Camera hardware represents a major highlight. The Pulse 2 Pro retains a 50MP selfie camera and a 50MP main camera, matching its predecessor. However, HMD has added an 8MP ultrawide camera, addressing a key omission in the earlier model. This upgrade should make the phone more versatile for photography, especially in landscape and group shots.

Display, Performance, and Battery Specifications

The Pulse 2 Pro is said to feature a 6.72-inch IPS display with a 1080p+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. While the panel does not use OLED technology, the resolution and refresh rate should still offer a smooth and sharp experience for everyday use. HMD reportedly pairs this display with a Unisoc Tiger T7250 chipset, built on a 12nm process.

The processor includes two Cortex-A75 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. While this configuration does not target heavy gaming, it should handle daily tasks reliably. The device will reportedly ship with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and offer 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. A 5,000mAh battery powers the phone and supports 20W charging via USB-C.

Cheaper Pulse 2 and Pulse 2+ Target Budget Buyers

Below the Pro model, HMD plans to release the Pulse 2+ as a more affordable alternative. This version reportedly includes a 6.7-inch IPS display with a higher 120Hz refresh rate, but it drops to a 720p+ resolution. The Pulse 2+ features a 13MP selfie camera and a 50MP main camera, without an ultrawide lens.

The base HMD Pulse 2 cuts costs further. It uses the same Unisoc processor and 5,000mAh battery as the other models, but pairs them with a 6.7-inch 720p+ display running at 90Hz. Camera hardware includes a 50MP main sensor, a 2MP secondary camera, and an 8MP selfie shooter.

Features, Durability, and Launch Expectations

Across the lineup, HMD appears to maintain practical features that many competitors are abandoning. The Pulse 2 Pro includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, NFC support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an IP52 rating for basic dust and splash resistance. These additions strengthen its appeal in the budget segment.

At this stage, HMD has not confirmed pricing or launch dates for the Pulse 2 series. However, the level of detail in the leak suggests an announcement may be imminent. If HMD keeps pricing close to the previous Pulse Pro, the Pulse 2 Pro could offer strong value for users seeking modern design and solid cameras without a premium price tag.
