lucadelladora – TCL has officially introduced the TCL A400U Premium Wallpaper QD-Mini LED TV, a new ultra-slim Mini LED television lineup now appearing on the company’s global website and at several European retailers.
The new series is designed to sit almost flush against the wall thanks to its slim 44.5 mm (1.75-inch) body, giving it a “wallpaper TV” appearance.
Unlike some competing art-style televisions, however, the A400U does not include decorative frame options or a matte anti-reflective display.
Five Sizes Available
TCL is offering the A400U series in five screen sizes:
- 55-inch
- 65-inch
- 75-inch
- 85-inch
- 98-inch
The lineup targets users seeking a premium large-screen TV with both slim aesthetics and gaming-focused performance.
QD-Mini LED Display With High Brightness
The A400U uses a Mini LED backlighting system combined with QLED technology and a 4K resolution panel.
According to TCL, the TV delivers:
- Up to 2,500 nits HDR peak brightness
- 93% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage
- Native 7,000:1 contrast ratio
The TVs also utilize a CSOT HVA display panel designed to improve contrast and black depth performance.
For the largest 98-inch model, TCL includes up to 1,344 local dimming zones to enhance HDR and dark-scene detail.
Gaming Features Target High-End Players
Gaming is clearly a major focus for the new lineup.
The A400U includes support for:
- 288Hz VRR Game Accelerator
- AMD FreeSync Premium Pro
- Game Master gaming mode
These features are intended to reduce latency, improve smoothness, and enhance responsiveness during gaming sessions.
As a result, high refresh rate support is becoming increasingly important for premium TVs as more gamers connect modern consoles and high-performance gaming PCs to large displays.
Google TV and Gemini Integration
The A400U series runs on the Google TV operating system.
Users can access a wide range of streaming services and smart TV apps directly through the interface.
TCL has also integrated support for Google Gemini, enabling:
- Personalized movie recommendations

The TVs additionally feature a built-in 2.0-channel sound system tuned by Onkyo with support for Dolby Atmos audio processing.

Premium Slim TV Market Continues Growing
The A400U reflects the growing demand for televisions that combine premium display technology with minimalist industrial design.
In recent years, ultra-thin TVs positioned close to the wall have become increasingly popular among buyers looking for displays that blend more naturally into living spaces.
Meanwhile, by combining Mini LED technology, gaming-focused features, and a slim chassis, TCL appears to be positioning the A400U as a premium alternative to both traditional large-screen TVs and lifestyle-oriented art televisions.
