Google Unveils Android AI Features for Galaxy S26

lucadelladora – Google has announced a new wave of Android updates alongside Samsung’s Galaxy S26 launch. The updates focus on Gemini-powered tools and enhanced security features.

One of the key additions is a new capability in the Gemini app. It allows users to assign multi-step tasks such as ordering rides or building grocery carts.

The feature runs in the background while users continue other activities. Progress can be tracked through live notifications, enabling users to monitor or intervene at any time.

Initially, the feature will support selected food, grocery, and rideshare applications. It will launch in beta on devices such as the Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10.

Availability at launch is limited to the United States and South Korea. Google plans to expand support to additional apps and regions over time. The update reflects Google’s push toward more autonomous digital assistants.

Another improvement comes to Circle to Search functionality. Users can now search for multiple objects within a single image.

This includes a “find the look” feature for identifying clothing items. Users can also try outfits virtually once the system identifies each piece.

The upgrade enhances how users interact with visual content. It enables more detailed and contextual search results directly from the screen.

On-Device Scam Detection Expands to Calls and Messages on Select Devices

Google is also introducing new scam detection tools powered by Gemini. These features aim to improve user safety during calls and messaging.

On Samsung’s Phone app, the system can detect suspicious speech patterns during calls. It alerts users if the conversation resembles known scam behavior.

The feature operates entirely on-device to maintain privacy. Google states it does not activate during calls with saved contacts.

Scam detection for calls is currently limited to the Galaxy S26. It is available in English and only within the United States.

A similar system has been introduced for Google Messages. It monitors text conversations for patterns associated with scams.

Unlike call detection, the messaging feature is available in multiple markets. This expands protection across a wider user base.

All features are disabled by default and require user activation. This ensures users retain control over privacy settings.

The updates are now available on Pixel 10 and Galaxy S26 devices. Availability may vary depending on region and feature support.

Google’s latest updates highlight a growing focus on AI integration and user security. The company continues to expand Gemini’s role within the Android ecosystem.
