lucadelladora – iQOO has introduced its first “Ultra” flagship smartphone with a strong focus on mobile gaming performance. The new iQOO 15 Ultra builds upon the standard iQOO 15 and introduces enhanced cooling, display, and camera features. The device will initially launch in China.

The iQOO 15 Ultra features a redesigned back panel with a distinctive honeycomb pattern. It is available in black and white color options. The square camera module includes an RGB LED strip that can display notification alerts. The design highlights the device’s gaming-oriented identity.

The smartphone measures approximately 0.34 inches in thickness and weighs around 8 ounces. It carries an IP69 rating for water and dust resistance. This certification indicates protection against high-pressure water and dust ingress. Durability appears to be a key consideration in the design.

Qualcomm powers the device with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which also appears in the standard iQOO 15. However, the Ultra model adds an active cooling fan that helps maintain more consistent performance during extended gaming sessions.

iQOO further reinforces the gaming focus by including two touch-sensitive shoulder buttons. These controls let users assign additional inputs for complex mobile games, a feature usually reserved for dedicated gaming smartphones. Through this approach, iQOO positions the device to compete directly in that segment.

The device uses a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 3168 × 1440 pixels. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate for smoother motion and delivers peak HDR brightness of up to 8,000 nits, with 2,600 nits in full-screen mode. These specifications place the phone among the brightest smartphone displays currently available.

Triple 50MP Camera System and 7,400mAh Battery Target Broader Audience

Beyond gaming, the iQOO 15 Ultra offers a comprehensive camera setup. At the rear, the system includes three 50MP sensors. Specifically, the main camera features an f/1.9 aperture with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, while the ultra-wide camera uses an f/2.05 aperture and a 1/2.76-inch sensor.

In addition, the telephoto camera uses a 50MP sensor with an f/2.65 aperture and supports 3x optical zoom through a 1/1.95-inch sensor. As a result, this configuration helps reduce the usual camera compromises found in many gaming smartphones. Meanwhile, a 32MP front-facing camera sits in a centered punch-hole cutout.

On the hardware side, the device handles security with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor integrated into the display. At the same time, it packs a 7,400mAh battery designed for extended use and supports fast charging via USB-C at up to 100 watts. Additionally, the phone supports wireless charging at speeds of up to 40 watts.

Overall, the large battery supports high-performance gaming and multimedia tasks, while fast charging minimizes downtime. Furthermore, wireless charging adds everyday convenience, and together, these features broaden the device’s appeal beyond dedicated gaming enthusiasts.

The iQOO 15 Ultra launches first in China. The base configuration offers 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for approximately $820. The highest-tier model includes 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, priced at roughly $1,110. Pricing positions the device in the premium flagship category.

iQOO has not yet confirmed plans for international availability. The company may evaluate market demand before expanding distribution. For now, the iQOO 15 Ultra strengthens the brand’s position in the performance-focused smartphone segment. The combination of active cooling, high-refresh display, and triple 50MP cameras defines its flagship ambitions.
