This new chip promises up to 15 percent better CPU performance than the previous Exynos 2400. It also delivers 39 percent faster on-device AI performance, improving features like photography and voice assistants.
The chipset supports direct connectivity with Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, enabling emergency calls and texts even without cellular coverage. This feature enhances safety for users in remote or disaster-affected areas. Samsung confirmed the Exynos 2500 is in mass production, though it did not specify the first device to use it. However, recent reports suggest the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will debut this chip at the Galaxy Unpacked event next month.
Advanced 3nm Manufacturing and Packaging Technology
The Exynos 2500 uses Samsung’s 3nm Gate All Around (GAA) process technology. This method improves transistor efficiency and performance. The chip also incorporates fan-out wafer-level packaging (FOWLP), which enhances heat dissipation.
Better heat management allows devices with this chip to run cooler and extend battery life. The efficient 3nm process also contributes to lower power consumption compared to older chipsets. The Neural Processing Unit (NPU) achieves 59 TOPS, offering a 39 percent improvement in AI tasks. This allows more advanced on-device AI functions like real-time image processing and improved voice recognition.
Superior Camera and Display Support
Exynos 2500 supports cameras with sensors up to 320 megapixels or dual cameras such as 64MP and 32MP combinations. It can record video at 8K resolution and 30 frames per second with 10-bit HDR or at 4K resolution with 120 frames per second.
Display capabilities include support for up to 4K resolution at 120Hz or Quad HD+ at 144Hz. This ensures sharp images and smooth animations for gaming and media consumption.
