RedMagic OLED Tablet Leak Reveals 185Hz Display

lucadelladora – RedMagic is reportedly preparing to launch its next-generation gaming tablet very soon. With new leaks suggesting the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro could debut in May 2026.

Although RedMagic previously confirmed the tablet’s existence earlier this year, the company has not officially announced a release date. However, fresh reports from known leakers now indicate the launch is approaching quickly.

According to reports, the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will directly compete with devices such as the Lenovo Legion Tablet Gen 5 in the growing compact gaming tablet segment.

OLED Display Could Give RedMagic an Advantage

One of the biggest rumored upgrades is the display technology.

Unlike the Legion Tablet Gen 5, which uses an 8.8-inch LCD panel. The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is expected to feature a larger 9-inch OLED display.

The screen could also support a 185Hz refresh rate. Representing an improvement over the 165Hz panel found on both the previous RedMagic tablet and Lenovo’s competing device.

If accurate, the higher refresh rate may provide smoother gameplay and more responsive touch interaction during fast-paced gaming sessions.

OLED technology would also likely deliver stronger contrast, deeper blacks, and better color reproduction compared to traditional LCD gaming tablets.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Advanced Cooling

The tablet is also rumored to use the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset.

To maintain stable performance during heavy gaming workloads, RedMagic is reportedly equipping the device with an upgraded cooling system designed to sustain higher clock speeds for longer periods.

Gaming-focused tablets increasingly rely on aggressive cooling solutions because modern flagship mobile chips can generate significant heat under extended load.

Leaks also suggest the tablet could launch with configurations offering:

  • Up to 24GB RAM
  • Up to 1TB storage

Those specifications would place the device among the highest-end Android gaming tablets currently available.

Battery and Competition With Lenovo

Battery capacity may be one area where the RedMagic tablet slightly trails its Lenovo rival.

Current reports indicate the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will include an 8,300mAh battery, while the Legion Tablet Gen 5 offers a larger 9,000mAh battery.

Still, overall battery performance will depend heavily on software optimization, cooling efficiency, and OLED power management.

Pricing will also play a major role in the tablet’s competitiveness.

In China, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-equipped Legion Tablet Gen 5 launched at CNY 3,999, or roughly $585, making it a strong value-focused gaming option.

RedMagic will likely need similarly aggressive pricing if it hopes to compete directly in the premium compact gaming tablet market.

RedMagic 11S Pro+ May Launch Alongside Tablet

Reports additionally suggest the tablet could launch together with the upcoming RedMagic 11S Pro Plus smartphone series.

That gaming phone lineup is expected to feature an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, continuing RedMagic’s focus on maximum gaming performance.

If both products launch together, RedMagic could position them as part of a broader gaming ecosystem targeting mobile esports players and performance-focused users.

With a rumored OLED display, ultra-high refresh rate, flagship chipset, and advanced cooling, the Gaming Tablet 5 Pro appears set to become one of the most powerful Android gaming tablets of 2026.
